My name is Erin and I am a cheese slinger and a beer lover! I started this blog for anyone who wants to know more about cheese and beer (hence the name, the ryes of the rinds…pun totally intended). It’s extremely rare that you meet people who do not like both, if not one, of these two delicious things.
On this blog I will be posting about different cheeses, recipes, beers, and cheese and beer pairings. I also will promote new products on the market, accompaniments to cheese and beer, and different shops and restaurants that offer amazing food. You can also link up to my twitter (yeah, my twitter) because there I post quite snippets from longer articles about cheese and beer and a link to those articles.
In a couple weeks I start an internship of a lifetime at the Cheese School of SF and I couldn’t be more excited! So much more to learn! It’s fitting that I start this internship in October because….October is National Cheese Month! In SF, Mission Cheese is participating, but it’s you lucky New Yorkers out there who really get to take advantage. Pick up a passport and go eat some cheese.
Stay tuned for more! I was just given the gift of the a nice chunk of the Rogue River Blue and I have figs in the fridge. Thinking of baking those up and topping with some honey. Will post soon!
(this here is a picture of Square Cheese I took at the Vermont Cheese Festival in 2010. It’s from Twig Farm in West Cornwall, VT!)
